Miami-Dade County police confirmed that the deaths of a man and a woman on Sunday in Richmond West were a homicide-suicide case involving domestic violence. The victims were identified as Susana Rosales Koris, 42, and Ulises Cabrera González, 44.

The incident took place at a residence located on the 17000 Block of SW 153rd Court, where both were found with apparent gunshot wounds. Preliminary report indicates that it was an “isolated domestic incident.”

Victims found and initial reports of a shooting in Miami

According to the official statement from the Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), police officers and Miami-Dade Fire Department personnel responded to the scene on Saturday around 1:00 p.m. after receiving a report of a man bleeding inside the house.

Upon arrival, emergency crews located a man and a woman with gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to CBS News Miami, a 911 operator reported that a person had reported that the man was “unresponsive, covered in blood, and had a hole in his neck,” although at that time it was not specified that it was a gunshot wound.

The Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office later determined that the cause of death was homicide-suicide. Authorities added that there is no further risk to the community and that no additional information is available at this time.

A case of domestic violence leaves two minors without parents

The couple had two children, aged 13 and 11, who now face the simultaneous loss of both parents in tragic circumstances. According to reports, the minors were not present at the time of the shooting.

The tragedy has had a profound impact on the Richmond West community, where neighbors said they were shocked by the event and expressed solidarity with the children’s relatives.

GoFundMe raises funds for Susana and Ulises’ children

After the victims’ identities were confirmed, family and friends started a GoFundMe campaign to support the couple’s children, identified as Ana Marcela (13) and Matías (11).

The campaign description notes that on December 6, an “unimaginable tragedy” occurred that left the two children without their parents:

“In an instant, their world changed forever. Surrounded by their loving family, Ana Marcela and Matías now face a future without their parents, and the road ahead will be full of challenges.”

The organizers explain that every dollar raised will be used to cover the children’s essential needs, such as:

  • Education
  • Psychological therapy
  • Living expenses
  • General support to rebuild their lives

The community has begun to join the cause, sending messages of support and solidarity.

This tragic incident adds to other recent cases of domestic violence in Florida, which have raised concerns among authorities and victim support organizations.
