Cruise company MSC officially inaugurated its new North America headquarters in Miami on Monday, following a $100 million investment that underscores the city’s growing importance in the global cruise industry. The new offices are expected to generate up to 1,500 jobs over the next three years, strengthening Miami’s role as a key economic and maritime hub.
According to data from the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the county’s official economic development organization, the new MSC headquarters will contribute an estimated $300 million annually to the local economy. The company, founded in Italy and headquartered globally in Switzerland, is the world’s third-largest cruise line and the leading cruise operator in Europe.
MSC confirmed that more than 400 employees from various divisions will relocate to the new offices, which span over 12,000 square meters. The company said the inauguration further reinforces Miami’s strategic role in its North American operations. This move follows the recent opening of the largest cruise terminal in North America at the Port of Miami, operated by MSC.
Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, who attended the inauguration ceremony, highlighted the broader economic impact of the investment. She stated that the project will create hundreds of new jobs, generate significant economic activity, and further strengthen Miami-Dade’s position as a global hub for cruise and cargo operations.
The investment also reflects the continued growth of the cruise sector in Miami. Earlier this year, Royal Caribbean began construction of a new terminal at the Port of Miami, a project valued at approximately $345 million and designed to accommodate up to 7,000 passengers.
