A shooting that occurred in the early hours of Wednesday morning in northwest Miami-Dade County left one man dead and a woman seriously injured. Local authorities reported this after receiving a shots-fired alert.

What Happened?
The incident took place at approximately 2:00 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 63rd Street and 21st Avenue, in a residential neighborhood of the area. The Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office (MDSO) stated that they received a shots-fired alert via the ShotSpotter system, which mobilized deputies to the scene.
Upon arrival, officers located a man and a woman with gunshot wounds on the street. Both were transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital for medical attention.
The man later died at the medical center, while the woman remains in critical condition, according to the official report. Investigating deputies found more than 30 bullet casings at the scene, indicating multiple shots were fired in the outdoor area near a residence.

Investigation into the Shooting
The MDSO Homicide Unit is leading the investigation to determine the motive for the attack, as well as to identify and apprehend those responsible. No details about the victims’ identities or possible suspects have been released at this time.
This incident adds to other recent gun violence events reported in different South Florida neighborhoods, where authorities have intensified investigations and calls to the community to provide information to help clarify the facts.
